- I've been writing about games pretty much full time since 1988, when I moved to LA and headed up VideoGames & Computer Entertainment magazine. Since then, I've had stints with GamePro, a short-lived digital-culture magazine called Digital Diner, GameWEEK/ieMag and IGN (my current position, where I'm overseeing editorial and writing for TeamXbox, Voodoo Extreme and the Planet/Vault community sites).
In between all that, I've done a lot of freelancing for such industry and mainstream publications/websites as Wired, Time, Toys R Us' Rzone magazine, Variety, Edge, Boy's Life, nVidia's nZone and others. I've appeared on TV networks and shows, ranging from interviews on CNN and MSNBC to ABC's Home Show to Nickelodeon's Total Panic to TechTV's Silicon Spin.
I've also authored/edited books, including an updated edition of David Sheff's Game Over, which saw the addition of two new chapters I wrote and a brief photo history of Nintendo that I compiled.
Somewhat behind the scenes, I've also served as a consultant to game publishers and developers on various aspects of the gameplay and product quality.
