About Me:
I write reviews and soundtrack reviews at RPGFan.com. I've been doing so since 1999.

I don't have a lot of professional experience, though I have done my fair share of PR work through email. I also attended E3 in 2005 and 2006 as a member of the press, which was quite a privilege for someone my age.

Fallout 3 Music Preview

RPGFan: a detailed review of "Featured Selections from the Fallout 3 Soundtrack." The preorder bonus gift from Bethesda features some incredible music from way back when, as well as some original compositions from Inon Zur. If this is any indication of things to come, we can be sure that Fallout 3 will be great in *every* way, music included. http://www.rpgfan.com/soundtracks/fallout3-promo/index.html

RPGFan Editorial on "Nostalgia"

http://www.rpgfan.com/editorials/2008/05-12.html A treatise on how to rank old games to new games.

RPGFan Editorial on "Renaming"

Renaming, Renumbering, and the International Market http://www.rpgfan.com/editorials/2008/02-29.html I rushed this month's editorial, and I probably could've written something better. But it (Renaming) is one of the few things that I complain about *less and less* as time goes by, and I think there's a reason for it. Check it.

RPGFan Editorial on "Burnout"

http://www.rpgfan.com/editorials/2008/01-30.html

This month, I've written an editorial about the potential for Burnout (the psychological condition, not the game) in developers, and how we can see the effects of burnout in a studio's output (found regularly in sequels and series, which may exist only because of a publisher's strong-armed persuasion).

Read it. Talk about it.

RPGFan Editorial on "Killing God"

Click here to read an article I just posted. It's about RPGs. And God. And killing God. And why developers make games like these.

Feel free to read!

From what I hear, it's pretty bad.

I'm still hoping to find a review copy when I get back from my trip. If so, I'll give you the scoop.

No, it's not, necessarily. Though, I suppose that's also a subjective thing.

I can't really answer your question without being more personal than I'd like -- just think about it, a bit! :P

Oh, I should probably also mention that the European version of Myst DS had some issues. The touch-screen control was horrible.

They are making a few changes for the US release, so I'm holding my breath. I'm trying to get a preview build from their PR. If that fails, we should still get a review copy closer to the release date. I'll let you know how it is.

Yup, the Myst article was mine.

I'm a little embarrassed actually. Was working under a pretty strict deadline, so I didn't get a chance to revise the article. Which means that I missed a couple of things.. like the developer's name. Geez. I'm glad you pointed that out.

The developer is Hoplite Research (which the article now actually mentions).

Manni was pretty elusive on the Wii part. All we really got out of him was that they were thinking about it. So, there really isn't anything else to add on that point.

Glad that you enjoy our work (and thanks for pointing out the developer part, that was kind of embarrassing)!

I noticed you on here and thought I'd pop in and say hi. RPGFan has been one of my favorite sites for years. Awesome work!

Hey there. Actually, I don't believe that award came from my old site... I don't recall the image and in late 1998, I was still dabbling in Angelfire hijinks. It wasn't until 1999 that we had a domain, host, and any modicum of quality. Could have been another website that used the "Source" name, perhaps.

But it's definitely interesting to see someone else who started young in that scene still writing and at a higher level. Thanks for the note.

It's a work in progress. I have no idea what kind of timeline they're dealing with, though. Be strong!

Well, I technically live in RTP, over by Southpoint. You know, where the ridiculously huge tree lighting shindig just took place.
