Because the world badly needs another social network

From the moment I picked up my first controller, I knew that video games would be a huge part in my life. With every season; there was a new character, a new plot, and always a new adventure. The following games are the ones that really made an impact on me.

5. Power Stone 2. Dreamcast.
The Dreamcast, while being a monumental failure, holds one of the greatest multiplayer brawling games around. Power Stone 2 had great interactive levels, tons of weapons to beat your opponents with and the most insane super combos this side of the Sega universe. It was so simple yet it captivated my friends and I for many of our after school hours. And that is why Power Stone 2 is a video game from my childhood.

4. Donkey Kong Jr. Atari 7800.
This was the first video game I have every played. I remember playing Donkey Kong Jr. on a hand-me-down Atari 7800 and I remember being frustrated out of my mind. I still have nightmares in which I climb vines and die only by falling a couple feet off the ground. Also, it has the rare distinction of being the one of the only games that comes to mind in which Mario is the villain. Quite a twist, bet you didn't see that one coming.

3. Pokemon: Blue Version. Gameboy.
If there was anything I could remember vividly from middle school, it was playing Pokemon Blue version. Linking up and battling with friends was all the rage, and the illusive Mewtwo was on the minds of everyone with a copy. This game ate up hours of my life, probably somewhere in the neighborhood of 100, and it was probably worth it...even though I was never really that great at the game. I still have fond memories of raising each Pokemon and showing them off to my friends. It was a huge fad, but it was probably one of the better ones that I took part in.

2.Mortal Kombat. Super Nintendo.
It was violent, disturbing and a media frenzy, but damn it if Mortal Kombat wasn't a great fighting game. Even though I owned the blood-less SNES version, I still played that game to the bone and beat the hell out of Goro one numerous occasions. I especially loved the 'test your might' feature, and I was disappointed with its exclusion in the sequels. Still, Mortal Kombat was a phenomenon and it was a wild ride.

1.Super Mario World. Super Nintendo.
This game took forever to beat, including finishing the annoying star road levels, and when it was over: I was proud to have finished the journey. Mario's world was so vast and so vibrant, and it was definitely a game that I spent many a summer days and nights playing. Ghost worlds, underground caves, and sinister castles were all in a day's work for Mario and his brother Luigi.
