About Me:
Gaming Photojournalist/Columnist by day, club DJ by night.

I'm the proud father of a brand new baby website and a podcast show, and I somehow inherited a staff full of drunken Shakespeare and Greek Lit enthusiasts (read:other journalist friends). I'm completely excited ... the writing, the podcasts, the drunken video reviews, oh my!

Leave a comment or write a message! I'm all about chatting with new people, especially my game-journo brethren!

Dangerous Kids Episode 7 ... definitely our best work so far

Here's the link: http://dangerouskids.net/2009/04/16/podkast-show-0007-wheres-my-rake/

I'm pretty happy with the way this episode turned out. Compound that with our first 5-star review on iTunes following my guest spot on The Wiire, and I'd say I'm pretty damn hooked on this podcasting stuff.

I have a guest spot on Big Red Potion coming up this weekend, but after that I'm officially on the lookout to book more… Continue

A lesson in tactful reporting

This just in: Gaming Journalism has lost its damn mind.

Today, v4vg.com announced that Microsoft is looking for a few new employees to work on “a new experience in the Halo universe.”

“Microsoft is currently looking out for lead Designer(s), executive producer(s), lead environment artist(s),technical art director(s), senior concept artist(s) , animation director(s) for… Continue

My first piece for TGR.

I started writing for thegamereviews.com (TGR) and I wanted to put up a link to see what everybody thought, since it's my first byline for a gaming-only outlet. You can find it here.

Also, does this kind of… Continue

Episode 2, finally

I finally finished episode 2. We decided to redo half the show, but my counterpart for the episode is in the National Guard, so was unavailable all weekend.

Also, check out the awesome head-colds we suddenly develop right around the 18-minute mark. I can't wait until we get a new setup. This stupid recorder is killing me.

Oh, and just a heads up ... it gets kinds serious this week. It's tough to crack jokes when discussing a local mass homicide, but don't worry, we bring it around again by the… Continue

Our first podcast is up.

I'm still working out the kinks on the RSS, the embedded player, the iTunes feed, etc., but for all intents and purposes, my first podcast show is officially live.

Please be gentle.

- Switch.

P.S. If anybody knows anything about how RSS and podpress and things like that work, please PM me or shoot me an e-mail. I feel as though I'm smart enough to understand this, and yet I continue to be bested by this blasted website.

What kind of MMO is good for me? --> Lets you segue into various types. I think moving beyond "WoW is for the simplistic, EVE is for the hardcore" would be worthwhile. There's tons and tons of MMO's out there, which one is "right" for me? I found EQ…

Wait, what? I RP'ed in WAR when I was gaming there. Really fun when you're staring down a stronghold siege with 100+ players who are getting into it. :)

I have a few: 1) What is the best way to stop bullies and trollers from torturing others so they can enjoy the game without being harassed? 2) Should smut talk be allowed in an MMO with people of all ages playing? 3) Should speech bubbles be cens…

"Otherwise, you're alienating readers who haven't played both games." I second that.

I might edit for brevity, but that's probably just be the old-school print journalist in me, so take that with a grain of salt. Otherwise, two things jump out at me: A) You're not really comparing Wheelman to the other two here. You're suggesting…

Sounds good. Oddly enough, I've never met Steve in person, though we happen to coincidentally share a couple non gamer friends (who don't even know each other at that). Portland is small for a big city that way.

I don't know who you are, or what you want. If you're looking for a ransom, I don't have any money. What I do have though is a very particular set of skills, skills I've built up over a very long career. If you let my daughter go now, that'll be the end of it. If you don't, I will come for you; I will find you; and I will kill you.

I like my gaming conversation like my coffee: strong and in a cup with sugar. I'm glad your asking these questions and making your thoughts known. We're definitely cool.

Yea, sure, and I’m pretty good at it, too. I mean, I was stalking your ass on this network before you'd even joined. That’s before I’d even heard of you, for that matter. Good, 'aint I?!

I'm starting to feel that I talk about stalking on this site more than anything else...

The friends thing, well, I thought if you were gonna stalk me i'd better get you on side.

But stalking is so much more fun than not stalking, don't you agree?
