I have just posted a discussion regarding females in videogames journalism on this site. I would like to draw your attention to this as I would really appreciate your specific input to this article if you feel it is something worth discussing. A journalist of your calibre could really provide some insightful perspectives on this issue. I also think you would be good for the article as I know you have worked closely with a female videogames journalist at least for Players Only. I am hoping to interview Kristen Salvatore for the article. Of course, all quotes will be cited as standard. Thanks.
Having looked at your profile, I believe you will be a highly appropriate person to get some videogame journalism advise from. And any that you do provide me with will be extremely well received!
Firstly, being 27 years old, I am starting to wonder what my chances of actually making it as a professional videogames journalist actually are. I didn’t realise I wanted to become a journalist of any sorts until about 1 year ago when it all seemed to become very clear to me. For this reason, I have a degree in an unrelated field. Do you have any advise concerning my chances on making it this late in time (in journalist terms at least)?
I have had to stay in full time employment in an unrelated field for various reasons and so have not been able to do as much article construction and networking as I would have liked. This is another concern for me.
I would appreciate any advice you could provide me with, be it motivational or disheartening.
