I have to disagree. Sometimes writing for free is a great way to get noticed. I started out writing for free and parlayed that into several paying gigs.

That sounds like a lot of fun. I might be interested if I find the time and if you're interested in having me. I'll have to listen to your older stuff and see how you guys roll.
For those of us who are journalists of independent games rather than mainstream ones. Not independent "game journalists", "independent game" journalists.
For those of us who are still stuck in the time warp and like to review the good old games.

- I just realized why your name sounds so familiar. I was running the Milwaukee city blog at 451 Press when you left for Ziff Davis. That turned out to be a wasted experience. I built the readership from 0 to 1,000+ in a month, and got a check for $7.

- My name is Will Snizek aka "Kezins". I have been a freelance blogger for several years. I started out on a small blog 1PStart.com and moved on to work as a news editor and marketing assistant for Ziff Davis Media on Gaming Today, which was part of the 1Up Network. I resigned from ZD is March, 2008 for various reasons and returned to the world of freelancing.
