Sorry, I may be using an outdated term, but clips means "published articles that you show as a sample of your work." The origin being cutting out your newspaper or magazine articles and photocopying them, then handing those copies to a hiring editor…
I've been writing pro about games since 1993 and have served on the staff at Official Xbox Magazine, GamesRadar, GamePro, Flux, and GameSport, along with freelance for a buncha places, from Wired to Time Out NY. I do game parody music on the side (Palette-Swap Ninja), I juggle fire, and I dislike the term "videogame journalist" because I don't think I've earned the title.
It's ok, I am trying to break into the industry, but mostly this blog is supposed to be for small opinions and to keep me on my writing feet. I'm doing work on a website, and I do more professional work on that one. While I do appreciate the feedback it did seem like you were attacking me for just an opinion I had about a game soundtrack.
I'm basing my opinion on the setlist that Van Halen versus what Beatles Rock Band has shown. I'm a fan of both bands, and I feel like Beatles Rock Band will be better based on artwork and music (albeit Beatles rock band showed a small portion of the music available-which still got me excited.) Van Halen music, which has been confirmed, looks to be a a mediocre setlist- since there are no Sammy Hagar songs on it.
Beatles Rock Band seems to be the better of the two- which is MY OPINION. Based on what has been released to the public, and my own views- Beatles Rock Band just looks to have more going for it.
Plus, the non Van Halen songs are terrible, Stacy's Mom by Fountains of Wayne is a joke when bundled with a legendary act like Van Halen. It reminds me of the very sub-par Guitar Hero: Aerosmith game.
Please realize that commenting so rudely on my page isn't constructive, it just makes you seem like an elitist.

Actually, both. I reviewed dance music, which in turn, made me a dancing journalist. It's hard to go out when you're married and 15 lbs. heavier from switching career paths. :p
