They sort of coincided with one another. I actually started going to J school before I started games writing, though. For the moment I'm sort of straddling the line and not devoting myself fully to either section of journalism (mainstream/gaming). I write for a daily newspaper and a non-gaming magazine, as well as the online gaming thing.
Although, as you might have noticed from the discussion I started, I'm definitely going to be mixing up my approach on games writing. Hopefully apply a lot of the things they teach you in journalism to this sector of the industry.
I've been on here for a month or two, and it's really been a lot of fun so far. It's great as a forum and as an exchange of ideas. So how long have you been doing the whole games writing thing?
