I usually like scores. Used properly, it can give that extra punch to drive the point home. But, I am growing increasingly frustrated with the multitude of scoring systems. I have one site that considers a B the average game, another uses C (my pers…

Nobody is perfect. Post or link to your latest articles, reviews, etc. and get feedback from your peers.

Hey, I bought Brutal Legend and rented Modern Warfare 2. I'm a rebel like that.

Vgchartz has some sales figures, although with a few caveats. PC numbers are almost non-existent. They don't factor in price at the time of purchase. I would also suggest contacting the owners to guage validity before using the the numbers in a publ…

Greedy is harsh... Sure, they've seemingly gone back on their word. But, like it's been said, who exactly can blame them? They worked their asses off to get their hands on Brutal Legend and get it published, and who among us has bought the game? Me…

I don't feel like digging up the link, but I think GamerZines had a comment from a developer that merchandising is vastly under-used in the games industry. I'd have to agree, and I think companies need to be looking at more than just microtransactio…

The worst thing they can do is deny you review copies in the future. *shrugs*

About Me:
I realized something was wrong after four years of writing about film. I struggled to name my top three directors, but could detail the virtues and failings of each DDR mix. I started writing at HonestGamers shortly thereafter, dabbled in The Escapist and GameRevolution, and finally settled into GameShark and PlanetXbox360.

I am also working on getting a parkour site (see below) off the ground. For the sake of both pursuits, I am moving to San Francisco between June and October, and saying goodbye to snowy winters.

My neglected camera

I really need a new picture. It looks like I have some sort of cranial growth about to pop open, revealing the mutant twin brother I never knew I had. It also looks like I'm taking a leak, seeing as how that is obviously a shower curtain behind me. I guess this would be a good time to finally use that digital camera I bought last year.

Feeling Unworthy

I watched King of Kong last night (finally). It made me feel happy, excited, hopeful, and so many other sappy adjectives, in addition to sadness. I had my own slice of arcade fame back in 1994. At 13 years old, I dare say that I was the greatest Primal Rage player in Green Bay, WI. It was the hottest game at the mall, and I was unstoppable. As long as the challengers kept coming, I would sit on that machine for hours after popping in my original quarters. Some of the sore losers accused me of pi… Continue

Good luck with your move. I just "relocated" from New York to San Diego, and I'm shying away from San Francisco because I figure I'll last a month or two longer on cheaper rents down here before my money dries up. Hooray for Game Journalism!

Hey Brian, I'm just trying to get the word out about my site (looking for people to review) and I thought I'd hit you up. I run http://www.playitreviewit.com, which is an up and coming review site for gamers, by gamers. I'm looking to build a community of great reviewers, and I thought maybe you'd like to contribute some content.

I know how you feel about being in the mid west (Northern Chicago here) and I plan on moving to SF next year as well. In the mean time, if you're interested at all in writing reviews, or even posting previous reviews you've written, I'd love to have them. Hopefully, the site will grow steadily and you can say you got in at the beginning! :)
