Videogames Journos Network

Because the world badly needs another social network

GameOnn.com is seeking writers of all types. The website offers a pay per post structure. We are looking for dedicated writers that can at minimum post at least 5 times per month. Payment details are listed below.

Review (New): $25
This is a review of a game you have completed. Game must be at max 2
weeks old.

Review (Old): $10
A review of a game older than 2 weeks, max 2 months.

Preview: $10
This is a preview of a game you have not played and that has not
launched yet, but you have researched.

Editorial: $12 (15+ comments)
Editorial: $6 (less than 15 comments)
The reason I'm splitting the editors by comments is because I want to
reward writers that come up with articles that generate more visitors
and discussion.
Comments will be tallied up at the 1st of each month.

News/Rumors Post: $5
New screenshots, videos of something that just came out, or anything
news related.

If you are interested please email your resume and some writing samples to admin(at)gameonn(dot)com.

I have an update.

GameOnn doesn't supply games for review, you have to procure them yourself unfortunately.

Also, four new writers have been hired and more may be in the future, but for now there aren't anymore positions open. Thanks to everyone for submitting.

Eep. I'm not a big fan of the "preview research" model. That's basically just taking other outlets' information and branding it as your own when you spin the word ordering.

I agree Mitchell. People aren't really interested in reading the same thing that other sites are saying, but would rather get your own opinion about what you were able to find out or discover. Anyone can regurgitate.

That's a pretty outrageous thing to do, if you don't mind me saying. Attracting traffic is the site's job, not that of freelance writers. And I'm of the firm belief that people should earn based on, y'know, being good at their craft. When you're offering such a small amount of renumeration in the first place, setting a clause like that strikes me as barmy if not insulting.

The first thing that sprang to mind was that you're essentially rewariding writers who pen articles called "Ten reasons the PS3 is shit". You might want to consider the sorts of articles that get the most comments, Stew.

Are you still looking for writers?

Okay. This site isn't mine so if you have issues with the payment method, I get it and I apologize (and agree to an extent) and no the site isn't hiring anymore writers.

I don't care if it's not yours, I'm blaming you entirely. Even if I didn't apply, or even visit the site! Damnit, Stew, you're the reason we can't have nice things!

Sigh... now you sound like my mother. :)
