I'm surprised that I made it through all these years without a publisher requesting something like this. I feel as though I joined a secret club. So when they say "as a courtesy" do they actually mean "you can, but we'd be sad" or "we'll tear your proverbial nuts of, dip them in chum and toss them into a pool of starved sharks if you do"?
