Videogames Journos Network

Because the world badly needs another social network

I recently saw that Susan Arendt listed Durham NC as her hometown. Which also happens to be my hometown.

Then when I searched through the VJN members, I also saw that editors for "The Escapist" were here, and I already knew they were Durham-based.

So, besides y'all, are there any OTHER people from Durham (or the rest of NC) on this site? I just think it's really random that for a small site there are people in the same town as me working in gaming journalism.

(anyone wanna hire me? The site I write for gives me more "perks" than "pay" -- www.rpgfan.com)

I live in Asheville, just about 4 hours away. I doubt anybody in this town could name three major gaming sites, let alone write for them. ;-) We should have a big ass VGJ party in NC.

John, I got friends in Asheville who are very much aware of the gaming scene, and probably *visit* three major gaming sites daily. It's a great town IMO.

Yes, we should have a par-tay. I'm-a go bug those people from "The Escapist" soon, methinks.

My hometown will always be somewhere in Texas, I think, but so long as The Escapist's checks clear, I'll be here.

Parties are good. I believe all of Team Humidor enjoys a good drink now and then. We should definitely plan a mixer of some sort. After the holidays, perhaps.

Patrick, you should throw us a resume. We're currently looking for a junior editor, and a local applicant would be welcome.

I'm actually relatively new to Durham (just moved in March). Spent the rest of my life in the suburbs of Philadelphia.

And I'm totally up for a par-tay.

um...I grew up in York PA and went to college in the suburbs west of Philly. That's totally weird.

Born in Charlotte, raised in Hertford, educated at NCSU, worked at Duke. Now my "real" job has taken me away from NC, although Chattanooga isn't that far from the state line. We hope to move back to Raleigh someday.
